[Open] I've been for a walk, on a winter's day
who: Alec Lightwood and You
what: Monthly Catch-All
when: Month of January
where: Various
warnings: Will update as needed
Bookstore and Music Store
Their library was extensive, but Alec missed the fantasy novels that he'd read as a boy. When the urge to read his old favorites became too much, he headed out to a few bookstores, looking for something similar to the sword and sorcery books he'd snuck into the Institute when he was a kid.
After the bookstores, Alec could be found in different record stores and music shops, looking for anything new that he'd never heard before or a few classics on vinyl that Magnus or Izzy might consider dancing to.
Hospital
After speaking with McCoy, Alec had spent more time than he expected thinking about subjects that were forbidden by Clave Law. None of the Shadowhunters were supposed to discuss their differences to Mundanes and he wouldn't mention Magnus' parentage unless it was absolutely necessary. But after losing Max, hopefully to a better life in a reality that Alec didn't remember, he knew that he had to tell someone about their physiology just in case something terrible happened. If they had been living truly Mundane lives it wouldn't worry him, but there was a chance that they could go on missions again that could turn out dangerous. With that possibility lingering over his head, Alec knew he couldn't keep secrets anymore. Anyway, since Max and Jace had arrived with serious injuries, someone had to suspect there was something different about them. Eventually Alec headed to the hospital, looking around the facility and asking for Dr. McCoy, occasionally studying any being who looked vaguely familiar to try to remember where he might have seen them.
The Park
Occasionally Alec needed to get away and clear his mind. Sometimes that meant a run through the park near Lux, making enough laps around the pathways that anyone who paid attention might wonder over how long he'd been running. Other times he found a quiet spot, folded himself into Lotus pose with more grace than someone his height should have, and either watched the other visitors or stared up at the bare tree branches, meditating as much as possible while away from the places he considered 'safe'.

Bookstore~
She's got one or two tucked under her arm, which would be suitable, which has led her to wander over towards the fantasy section for some recreational reading. Which is where Alec might find Marinette, standing on a step stool and reaaaaaaching up to try and get a book off the shelf. Though from her posture, she's more likely to knock the boooks off the shelf -and- the books she had in her arms if she klutzes out -- which is a pretty good possibility.

It was a stretch even for him, fingers brushing against the spine without finding purchase before he managed to catch hold of the book. Pulling it from the shelf, he smiled and offered it to her. "Was this the one that you wanted?"

Did she know about New York?
Looking up, he scanned the titles, then looked down at Marinette. "Are there any others up there that you were looking for?"

"You didn't interrupt. I was looking for a new fantasy novel. I used to read them when I was a kid." He smiled at Marinette before noticing one of the books on the top shelf might cause problems and pushed it back into place. "There's books here that I've never heard. Someone told me there's different variations of ones that are classics in most people's worlds, but I haven't looked for them yet."

She ooohs, "Well, I could help if I know what kind of fantasy you're into. I'm... going to bet it's not unicorns." She grinned. "I had a friend here ..sort of.. a while ago I was talking about books with. He was a ..." He probably wouldn't believe her if she said he was a vampire. There are limits to what's likely here right? "A bit of a vampire buff. Me, not so much."
