who: Diana of Themyscira and Steve Trevor
what: being gross
when: on December 24th (possibly onto the 25th?? maybe???)
where: at Steve's place
warnings: none for the moment, will edit if need be
[ Steve might be more nervous than the situation warrants. After all, they have spent a lot of time together, been out on dates too, and Diana has been at his place already, so at face value, there's nothing to make this situation so different. Except perhaps for all the Christmas decorations Steve's managed to find, the theme he's tried to stick with, the gift exchange, the cooking and baking...
And, well. There's the topic they briefly touched about Christmas supposedly being a celebration that lasts from the 24th to the 25th. He's not exactly sure what it means that Diana said she wanted to celebrate both with him. Does that mean she wants to stay over? Has that thought even crossed her mind? Should it even be crossing his? Is he, maybe, getting a little too presumptuous to even think about that possibility?
Anyway. It doesn't matter. He tries to tell himself that anyway, as he tidies up every corner of the place, so at least he's ready regardless of what she chooses to do once the night comes to an end.
Sadly he didn't find any records with Christmas songs, but he's managed to find a few instrumental tunes that come close enough, and that's what's playing in the background. He's halfway through wrapping the string lights around the tree he managed to find when the bell rings, and he sets it down and makes his way to the door, pulling it open. ]
Diana. [ He smiles a bit nervously, dressed in unusually modern jeans and a dark green shirt. Sammy comes to the door to greet her too, wagging his tail, and Steve steps aside. ] Come on in.

After Christmas, shall we celebrate New Year's Eve next? Then Valentine's Day?
[ someone's done her research. ]

Where did you get all those? Been studying, have you?
[ Plopping a few marshmallows into his own chocolate, he nods. ] We can celebrate New Year's Eve. It's a while for Valentine's, though.

I understand why you honor new beginnings. [ at themyscira, the amazons did the same. ] But only one day for love? That should be cherished more than once.

Oh, no, it's not— that. I mean, people still celebrate and demonstrate their love for each other every day, it's just... a unique day, is all. Much like when you care about someone every day, but you still give them a special gift on their birthday. That sort of thing.

[ she recalls what she witnessed in the shops, both here and in london. the world of men, and what she's gradually learning about it, is quite peculiar. ]
