[Osomatsu nods at that. he doesn't know what he'd do if he lost his family. actually, since he's been in Riverview, it's seemed like he's lost some already]
Yeah... [he's curious as to how it happened, but Osomatsu won't ask that. that's rude. instead he's quiet for the rest of their walk to the library]
[that makes Osomatsu laugh, because he's picturing all sorts of ways someone could get in trouble while piloting a giant robot. man, he still thinks that is the most badass thing...
they come to the library and enter, and Osomatsu seeks out the graphic novels section. there isn't a lot there, but there are definitely some robot manga]
Okay, see? Here's one, Mechanical Kid Toby. [he holds out the first volume to Lyle, so he can look through it, if he wants] It's about a scientist who loses his son, so he creates a robot of him, and the robot gets into all sorts of wacky adventures.
[Yeah, you really can get in a lot of trouble with a giant mobile suit.
Lyle follows Osomatsu back into the graphic novel section, pulling off his gloves now that they are inside. He looked at the shelves curiously. He'd been more a serious textbook sort of person so these were different for him.
He tilted his head slightly as he listened to the description. After a moment, he reached over to take the book from Osomatsu]
Sounds like it could be promising for a good read.
Yeah, it's a classic! ...But let's see if we can find any with giant robots... [he sniffs, perusing the shelves again. he takes down a few more volumes of something else, reading the backs] Hm.
So we have general robots. Yeah, let's see if there are giant robots.
[Lyle watched as Osomatsu pulled a few off the shelves before pulling one of the shelf as well, reading the summary on the back. Not anything interesting so he put it back]
[Lyle walked around the side of the bookshelf, leaning against one of them with his shoulder as he glanced at some of the titles. They definitely sounded more promising]
[at least there was stuff about space over here. and aliens. any robots, though? Osomatsu runs his finger along the spines of the books before he finally pulls out a few that have robots on the cover]
What about these? I haven't read 'em, but I hear it's a popular series. [he hands over the two volumes he found]
[Lyle watched as he pulled some of them out. Definitely sci-fi but some of the cover he couldn't understand. What did girls in tutus have to do with aliens? Maybe best he not think about that. He clearly wasn't that books target audience.
Then finally one with robots. He didn't really hesitate, holding out his hand to take the books]
Sure. I'll give it a shot. If they're any good, I'll let you know. A possible option to read for you as well.

[He just didn't think of them. It was easier that way. He'd already come to terms with their deaths]

Sorry.

It's okay. It's been a while. Being sad about it won't change it. I just try to honor their memory as much as possible.

Don't worry about it. It's not something that I've worried about for years. I just do what I can. And I have to make my own family.
no subject
What kinda family are you lookin' for?

[He still had that smile on his face a moment before he added]
Not looking to replace parents though. That would be too weird.
[Of course he's thinking he's too old for that, but really he's not that old]

...not that Osomatsu's had many friends, but still!]
Thanks! Guess we go check 'em out now, then, huh? Like I said, it's been forever since I've been in a library. [he laughs]

[Since they had really only walked in and went see if there was something for him]
