He lets it rest there for a moment before he removes the knife, letting it rest by his side again, blade resting against the inside of his wrist. "Alright. What do you think you did wrong?"

He wheeled over to where the knife had been flung and picked it up. "The other thing you need to do is make the blade a part of you. You're treating it like it's something different rather than an extension of your body. Pretend it's just another part of your hand or arm." He shows, in slow motion, a more fluid jab with the blade.
Then he gives the knife back to Osomatsu. "Now let's try again."

He deflects the blow again, but this time, he lets Osomatsu pull his knife away again. "Good! Now you're getting it better. But remember, aim for the soft parts of the body. Even if you hit the shoulder, there's a lot of bone and muscle up there. It won't injure someone very much and you might lose your blade. Try again and aim for my eyes." This was the point at which the 'Do Not Attempt This At Home. Trained Viking At Work' warning would flash across the TV screen if this was a show.

He demonstrates, pulling his knife down in a swift manner, leaving Osomatsu's blade there by itself for a moment. He turns the blade at the last second so he doesn't end up cutting Osomatsu's hand. "See? Now, you try." He places his blade back against his student's.

He blinks, amazed that he's actually doing this right. Well, Osomatsu prided himself on being a good fist-fighter (he's not, really), so it was just natural that he took to blades well.

Then his smile turns a little evil. "Or, you know, practice by just going after one of your brothers when they start to drive you crazy." Please don't. Ivar doesn't want to be interrogated by the police because the Matsunos all end up in the hospital.

"Thanks for the lesson!" he says as he picks up the dagger. He's just trying to gloss over the fact that he did something incredibly stupid. Oh, and payment! He's got cash that he hands over, too. "I'll be sure to practice on my brothers."

"Till next week then." Just to show off for a moment, he takes the blade in his hand, and with a casual flick, throws it through the air. It lands in a nearby dummy right between the eyes. A little taste of where one can get to with the proper training.

In any case, he holds up his hand in a wave, tucking his practice dagger into his hoodie pocket. He's tired now, but he'll probably practice later.
