A celebration of family, eh?
who: Ciel Phantomhive, Undertaker, Vincent Phantomhive, those invited to spend the holiday
what: Celebrating Hygge with cocoa by the fire
when: Second day (and on? maybe?)
where: Phantomhive/Undertaker house
warnings: None
He'd spent a late day in the store the day before, having several Bitter Rabbits customized to share at least a passing similarity to their recipients. And when they'd been finished, he carefully wrote out notes for each, boxed them, and set them out to be delivered the next morning. Two of them, he packed up to take home with him, to give to their new owners personally. They were in an unmarked box at least, easily covered up as something for work that he didn't want to leave.
He hoped the invitations would be accepted. At least in their own home, his father and Undertaker seemed at least a bit excited for Hygge. Even if it was something unique to this world.
Ciel also made sure the had plenty of ingredients for cocoa and plenty of marshmallows for it. His sweet tooth demanded as much. Anything else he was sure would be asked for. A shop wasn't too far away that they couldn't get anything needed or wanted. Or so he hoped.

"I bet, It was lovely by the by, it put it up so it will be safe. I live with to many people to keep it out and about." he explained even if he doubted Ciel would ever see where he had placed the rabbit. That it was in the trunk with his better guns wrapped up in his cloak from the masqurade to keep oil off of it. "I am glad to hear your doing well, you now I worry." He admitted before motioning forward, a silent request to come inside. "Yes, I'm fine, I'm like a tank, nothing takes me down." Then he wondered, would Ciel even know what a tank was?

"I'm glad you liked it. I had trouble with a few of them, I wasn't sure what to do." It was touching to hear people worried about him. Touching and still very new, but he wouldn't refuse that concern here.
"Almost nothing, anyway." He could remember the Panzer in Germany, how he'd had Sebastian tear open part of it to throw a grenade in with its crew. That had taken care of them and their tank fairly easily.

"How could I not? Hand made gifts take time and dedication, so it means a lot." And with that he held the box down for Ciel. "the one wrapped in violet is yours." Inside the car board box was a wooden box. Inside was a wooden box with more inside.

He suddenly remembered his manners, and smiled sheepishly, stepping aside to let Jason inside as he accepted the gift, looking it over with a little smile.
"You didn't have to get me anything."

Jason stepped inside once Ciel had moved and taken the gift, the box returned to his hip once Ciel had his box.
"I don't have to do anything, I choose to. My brother's all left, so let me spoil you." He spoke with a soft smile, of course in truth, he never would have spoiled his brothers. To much bad blood. He was sure he was why they all left. Even if one remained he was avoiding him to spare the man the headache that was Jason Todd. "I didn't know what to get your father, I just hope it's a good vintage." he motioned to the wine bottle. "Wine was never my forte."
no subject
"I haven't been spoiled in years." He let out a soft laugh, almost a little sad, but it was something he'd chosen. No birthday or Christmas gifts except from Lizzie and only at her insistence. Not since that day. Jason, and others in the Quarantine, were proving to be an exception to that though.
He did smile at the wine though, gesturing for Jason to follow him into the kitchen. It seemed as goo a place as any to set everything down until he saw Vincent.
"I'm afraid I'm no better, I didn't indulge often back home and I would prefer to avoid it entirely here." He got sick enough.
no subject
"Well, expect for that to change, at least to the best of my ability." He responded feeling a little better as he said it, a sad thought crossing his mind that Ciel would have been a better brother to him than the brothers he had. He didn't dwell on it, pushing the thought away as he followed Ciel. Sitting the bottle with it's pretty ribbon on the counter, along with a pretty wrapped box for the Undertaker. The box he had carried everything in was left set aside for now, he would take it back for the other gifts he had to haul around.
"A smart choice, if you ask me. Hell, if you want grapes you should try grape soda." He chuckled some, patting Ciel on the shoulder.

"If I can't convince you otherwise, at least assure me you won't break yourself." The teen would still try to convince him not to worry about gifts otherwise. Especially if Jason learned just how close to his birthday it was.
He settled at the table, glancing from the wine to the other gift, then to Jason and back to his own gift. It had weight to it, he hadn't expected that. And it did make him worry a little that Jason had gone out of his way. Then again, wouldn't others say Ciel had done the same.
"Grape soda?" He knows soda, it had been increasing in popularity, but grape? Even with the question, he opened the box and then paused, mouth gaping.

"I'm good at carrying the load, don't worry about me." He chuckled, as an idle though of 'what else would it go to? his drinking?' He knew he needed to cut back, so it helped. Though he would be irked if he missed the kids birthday.
"I'll bring a bottle next time, it's like the taste of childhood, at least for me. My mom used to keep it around before she got sick." Though his lips quirked into a smile seeing Ciel's reaction. "So, is that a good look or bad?"
no subject
"You're a friend. It goes without saying that I'll worry." And he will. Undertaker might as well though he couldn't say if it was for his own fondness or for Ciel's sake.
The gun, he couldn't help looking over again, fingers lightly running over it before picking it up and testing the weight. It felt right, a good weight for him.
"Good look. This..." Can't have been cheap.
no subject
"Can't blame me for trying. " He spoke in an amused tone looking at the younger and enjoying the reaction. This was something he lacked with his family. "Is for you, and so is this." He pulled out a cute shaped keychain. "This, is a stungun, made to look adorable so no one will question it. Someone messes you and you flip this bit here." he shifted it. "and hit this and you'll shock the living shit out of any attacker. These are a little more legal than the gun." He spoke as he sat the keychain down in the box.
The gun hadn't been cheap at all, but he'd collected some gambling debts.

The gun really was a marvel, it would take him a little work to get used to but he was a good shot with any other gun, good enough to nearly beat his aunt in a game of hunting. The stungun got a curious look though, and a soft laugh.
"Nobody would take me seriously with that." Although, he supposed that was the point, wasn't it?
no subject
The new gun was lighter but also more powerful. Jason wanted to make sure his friend would be safe. Which is why he didn't move him straight up to hand-canons quite like he used. Jason grinned a little. "That's the point Ciel. No one will expect you to be a threat with it until you stun them. And trust me its helpful." So. Yes he still held it out.
