[open] the dating game!
who: magnus burnsides, cisco ramon and you!
what: some blind dates!
when: throughout november
where: throughout riverview
warnings: will update as needed!
[ Since his friend with benefits went and got himself a For-Real Boyfriend, Magnus has been just a little bit lonely. It’s really not a big deal; it wasn’t anything serious. However, one of his friends is taking it upon himself to remedy Magnus’s loneliness.
That friend is Cisco.
He’s making it his responsibility to make Magnus’s life a little happier… by playing matchmaker. You might get a call or a text from Cisco asking if you’re up for a blind date. He might not even tell you it’s supposed to be a date. However he convinces you to get out of the house, you’re going to find a (possibly confused) Magnus Burnsides when you arrive. Maybe you’ll have a good time. Maybe you won’t. ]
( If this is something that interests you—for good times or bad—feel free to contact Magnus mun at
aldigrocery or Cisco mun at
platoapproved! We’ll be happy to set up a scenario. )

Date.
[Yeah, he's just going to repeat that numbly like he doesn't get it, because there's no way Cisco really thinks that either one of them are the other's type. Right? ... Right? By the mercy of some higher power he's actually not blushing over this notion. Remarkable.]
Well, that probably makes two of us. Considering the last time Cisco and I talked ... Well, he could have the same impression from me. Which is why this would make sense. I guess.
[At least, make sense to Cisco. Where it wouldn't otherwise, by all logical standards.]

[Seems like they're on the same page, in that Ed's not too excited by the notion of a date, either. That's good.
He doesn't really think before asking,]
Why would he get that impression?
[Magnus certainly hadn't gotten that impression from Ed.]

Ah... A couple months ago, that soul mate- romantic holiday, thing...
[Okay, well. Now he's blushing. He didn't really want to give out Cisco's personal information, the guy seemed pretty down, stressing about what to do but-]
We started talking. I kind of ... told him about a girl I knew before coming here. It was stupid.
[Telling Cisco, that is. It wasn't really something he talked about much at all, to anyone.]

[Magnus grins at Ed's blush, teasing just a little. But his next question is more genuine.]
Did you get one of those red string things like I got?
no subject
It wasn't like that. I was somewhere else before I came here. That wasn't the only place I've been, either. She needed me, and I-
[How was it that it didn't get easier to explain this wasn't his first rodeo?]
People started disappearing in May... next thing I knew I wound up here and it was June.
[The red string question makes him pause, trying to work out what Magnus is asking before he remembers mentioning the September holiday.]
No, I didn't... Bother with those potions. Cisco had one, he seemed pretty undecided about taking it, so we started talking, that's all.

Another weird universe-jump kind of thing, huh? Boy, am I used to that.
[He doesn’t bother pressing about the girl in question, because it seems like Ed doesn’t want to talk about it. He kind of jumps around that issue.]
But I guess that does explain why Cisco went and made an assumption. I took one of those potions and—well, it basically told me I’m not gonna find my soulmate or whatever in Riverview. Sooo…. [He punctuates this with a shrug.]

You too? I get a lot of reactions, but that's usually not one of them.
[A beat, Ed seems to consider that before speaking again.]
I guess if he knows we've both been around and neither one of us has someone here- I can see the logic. At least we'd have something in common to talk about.
[The longer this conversation goes on the more he's starting to wonder about Cisco, though.]
From what I gathered he wasn't too sure he believed in all that soulmate stuff, anyway.
