Floor Six + Perimeter Guard
Jason had woken up in one of his moods, that much was clear by the way he sat at the edge of his bed with the covers half over his head like a cloak. Glaring a anyone and everyone that made any noise on the floor. It didn't help that he had only gone to bed a couple hours beforehand and it was a bad dream that jolted him out of his slumber.

Waiting to hear the shower kick off so he could steal the water also didn't help his mood when he saw the time and realized he was about twenty minutes later for work. The covers thrown back as he shuffled fast to tug on his guard uniform and strap his guns to his legs and tugged on his leather jacket as he rushed for the door forgetting his messenger bag by the bed.

After speeding on his bike through the city streets, barely getting by without getting caught by the police. He parked the bike and rushed into the headquarters. He still had healing bruises from the bar fight last week and he looked a mess but after some talking he made his way to get started on the days job.

Bookstore
Once he was free of the obligations of the day, Jason went to his favorite place, the little bookstore/cafe he often had lunch with Ciel at. Quietly moving through the shelves looking for something new to read that caught his interest. Stopping every now and then to look over the back of a book for a synopsis. It was the calm part in the day, just flipping through the pages of multiple books. He was still dressed in his uniform since he had forgotten his bag with the change of clothes and didn't feel like running home yet.

Once he found a book, he could he found at one of the tables nursing some coffee as he turned pages soaking in the simple lovely little story he had found.

Rooftop
Jason, no, Red Hood moved silently along the rooftops and back alleys. He was bored of laying low, of being good and letting the metas and other's handle everything. He missed the rush of it all. So even with his helmet on the fritz he moved as quickly and quietly as he could. Eventually he found himself with nothing to do sitting on the edge of a roof with the hood half lifted sipping a fountain drink while watching the city life below.

Riverview High School - Mostly Closed to Bruce Wayne
The last place a guy like Jason Todd needed to be was at a high school. He had never got to finish school himself, despite jumping from 5th grade drop out to top of his class at a Gotham private school within months of being taken in by Bruce. He and his adopted father had spent many nights after patrols talking about what kind of college he would go to, the path laid out for him, but he never made it that far. Never even got his GED when he came back. His vengeance had been more important, then life just swept him up.

He was only here for the same reason he had gone to that fancy school back in Gotham. For Bruce Wayne.

He was sitting outside, constantly looking at his watch, leaning on the hood of a rusted red 60's Mustang, dressed in dark jeans, a black t-shirt and a brown leather jacket. He wasn't sure why he had decided to stop stalking his father, and just approach him again, but clearly ambushing him at the end of a school day was better than approaching him at the communal housing.

[ A yelped laugh and Loki goes with the kiss, his hand in soft hair reaching around Jason's neck to hold on. The kiss parts with a smooch and he rubs their noses together, happy to be a damsel. ]

Not so much heat in a library, Mister Darcy, you'll start a fire.

She just wanted to help people, she didn't really think through the consequences of any of that. That'd be like knowing what's up.

"Well, his isn't a secret double life thing. Just intergalactic flying castles are kinda lonely. Like living in the upper half of Ontario." What, it was a cold dark emptiness like space right? Not that Lola's ever been that far north. She collected up the bills and scrutinized them a bit over the amount, but she likes nice things and nice things cost money so she won't say anything to stop him. "We still on for a driving lesson this weekend?"

"There's not much we can do about that, though," she mused, "... you're right though. It's not good to get too comfortable around here." She glanced at him, curious. Early July... huh. That's a month after she showed up. "I can relate.. kind of. Several friends went back home last month, but I can't say I was particularly close to any of them." She could have been. Yuuto was really nice, and so was Link, but..maybe it was best not to get attached. Hell, if Keith left tomorrow, she'd probably be upset about that.

She perched on the ledge of the roof, hands bracing herself as she faced him, pensively. "And they left? ... I'm sorry to hear that. I mean. If what we're told is true, time doesn't pass and we'll see them when we go back anyway, but still.." She glanced over the edge, watching as he chucked the cup with perfect aim, into the dumpster below. 10 points! "Maybe I'm lucky none of my friends have shown up here after all." Things would probably be complicated and confusing for certain reasons.

She shook her head, though something caught her attention out of the corner of her eye, and she glanced towards the street again. ".. Hey, does that truck seem suspicious to you?" It was just an ordinary looking van with tinted windows though. Still unmarked vans made her suspicious nowadays. And being that he was here before her, maybe he was staking it out and that's why he was here so long, but there were a few people loitering near it now. Normally that wasn't THAT suspicious BUT in a place like this..?

I understand. Luckily there's been no pressing need of late.

It's not too late though, I'll make sure my father and Undertaker know you're coming by.

Not to worry, I don't hold it against you.

Actually, it's good you texted me. Undertaker and I recently purchased a house.

Hana was about to pick her own tray up when Jason saw fit to grab both of theirs. Protest on the tip of her tongue - because she was a free independent woman who don't need no man to carry her tray for her - she decided against it in favor of moving their conversation along, instead following him back to their booth and retaking her seat across from him.

She would start picking at the french fries, first, because potatoes were the best, and she looked up at Jason with an amused smirk on her face, holding a fry between her lips like it was a cigarette or something.

"Well, yeah, otherwise I'm just gonna make you tell me what this is about?"

So get to it, Jason.

[Like motorcycles, cars were still strange for him as well. Even if they'd seen them often enough since arriving. It didn't erase the novelty of them. They're around enough though that Ciel can tell that it doesn't sound right.

Ciel slips to the door while his father and Undertaker are busy and peeks out, making sure it's Jason before stepping outside with a little smile.]

Is it... suppose to sound like that?

Jason, Jason. Don't confuse Lola with music references. She doesn't have good taste in music and you've just really confused her. Fortunately she's at work so she can forget her confusion bringing coffee to people.

He grinned at that and tilted his head, seeming to look more toward Jason without actually seeing him there. "Central heat and air. What is that?" The only central heat and air his world had was a fireplace in the middle of the house. He was well familiar with air conditioners by now and knew them as little devices on the wall that controlled a machine elsewhere, but didn't make the connection between the term and the device itself.

He was also familiar - or at least more familiar - with the ease with which illness was treated in this world, something for which he was quite thankful. "Since you mention it, I don't think I properly thanked you for helping my young lord out during his... episode. That sort of thing can kill a grown man where I'm from if we're not too careful."

Honestly? Hana looked a little bit like a deer in headlights when Jason mentions a relationship, because um, wait what? But then her face very visibly falls into a downright relieved look when he clarifies that he's not asking her out. Thank god.

Still, she squinted at him as she considered her answer to his question. The first one is easy to respond to, at least: "No, but I'm pretty sure there's no smoking inside this place, guy."

She took another sip of her milkshake between answering.

"As for a relationship - I don't know? Obviously the two people involved have to have feelings for each other but I guess they also have to be actually committed in that relationship? Like, devoted to one another or whatever."

Aw, heck. Why do people keep asking her about relationship stuff. Truth of the matter was that Hana had somewhat limited experience in that arena, even if she was perfectly comfortable with flirting and going out on dates. Relationships were different.

"Isn't that convenient? We could surely use it in our day." Heat and cold when they wanted or needed it? He really had a great deal more of catching up to do, but later. This B character had his interest - Jason kept mentioning him, but hadn't yet explained who he was. Clearly someone he either lived with or looked up to or who had helped him in the past. He had questions, but held onto them.

"Gets it from his parents, he does. He's more of his mother than he'll likely admit. Boys like to take after their fathers, you see. Do they still do that in your time, maybe you with this B you keep talking all about?"

He grinned, lifting hands to intertwine fingers beneath his chin while he leaned in on them. That was a sentiment he could get behind, being that more often than not, it was all he had ever had to go on in his small apartment back in the city. The stove was his heater and the window his cooling unit unless he chose to step into the ice room where bodies were kept.

"They were what all nobles are." In a few words, of course, but he could remember more, so much more. "His mother, I saw her less than I saw any of them, but she was a lovely woman, delicate and sweet, but sharp as a whip. His father was her strength and just as gentle as he was firm." The watchdog side of Vincent was far different, almost night to the Earl's day, but he held as much back. Some things didn't yet need to be told.

The story told reminded him of street urchins he had seen in alleys and in the main shopping squares in the city. Those poor children ended up in his parlor more often than not, eventually, having had no one to defend them against the cruelty of the world and no one to stand up for them when they were caught thieving to stay alive. He had watched it all quietly, simply observing, taking no side. It made him wonder what kind of world Jason had known, how much worse it was like on his own streets. "You were one of the lucky ones," he commented and didn't bother to elaborate.
