Despite the teasing tone, Alec's heart clenched at Magnus' words. The phrase 'pet warlock' echoed through his mind and for a moment guilt caught in his throat. He knew that for centuries beings had seen Magnus as a resource, someone to be used for his magic and then cast aside. "I love your magic because it's part of you. Like my aim is part of me." More powerful, potentially more dangerous, but no different than his skill with a bow or his ability to fight. "I'd love you if you didn't have it.
