Also, the free thing is a huge motivator. This part she doesn't share with Thor, but letting this entire creature just go to waste? She can't. Thor is a prince, his upbringing so very different from her own, and he won't understand. He doesn't know what it's like to starve because there just isn't food, because you're on your own, because there's nothing there, because you're being tested, because you're being punished. Natasha knows what it's like to be hungry, she knows what it's like to go hungry. Wasting this much potential food isn't something she will ever be able to do.
