[Clementine didn't usually get extra food with the idea of sharing. She did it to store the items away for later, because you never knew when you would and wouldn't be able to get your hands on things. If you shared with others or let people know what you had they would usually ask for more or worse - try to take what you had. When your world is all about survival, you only share when it's beneficial to you.
