festivities, yo
who: Undertaker and YOU
what: A mortician/barista enjoying the end of the month city-wide funsies
when: Sept 22 - 30th
where: All around Riverview
warnings: Undertaker is an idjit when he's not being a badass
prompt 1: fungal safari
The beasts of the forest aren't anything that unnerves him. He and these creatures have tangoed before, on more than one occasion, and so when the announcement comes about that there are rewards being offered for a certain fungus that restaurants consider a rare treat for their customers, Undertaker makes a point of putting his name in for that lot. The cafe itself has started to consider a sandwich he hasn't seen on the menu before that includes one of these tasty morsels. Really, there's no reason in the world for him to pass up this opportunity. Add a little to his savings and help his employer and a few others out at the same time? Count him in!
prompt 2: tavernfest
This sort of thing is the thing he misses. It looks like the carnivale that he visited when he first came into the city and that had been quite a time for him. The music, the food and the drink, all new things to him that he found he had become quite fond of in his time here. The ale being offered was nothing like the whiskey he had been used to back home, but he'd taken it so rarely even then that it hardly mattered. It lacked the burn of his own alcohol, but it... wasn't bad, especially with the spiced pork he'd found at a vendor just across the way.
Oh, this was lovely. He thought he might like to try that recipe for himself one day. And since the event called for a costume of sorts, something historical from their own world, and he himself seems to be living history for the people in this place and the times from which they come, he has opted to wear something akin to what people in his society used to wear at fancy outings. It's a little high class, even for him, but his living clients often were, and he wears his own mortician's garbs pretty much everywhere he goes. Why not dress up for a bit?
prompt 3: under my umbrella
It sure is getting more and more damp outside these days. Really, he's surprised Tavernfest can go on with as much rain as they've suddenly been getting lately, but it works out somehow. The good news is, it isn't rain that's burning through his hair and clothes and causing rashes and welts, so there's that. It's been raining so much, he brought out his umbrella to keep dry today, but a thought crosses his mind and he grins, lowers it, and swings it around.
Anyone who catches him out in the wet and the muggy will find him dancing in the rain, soaking wet from top to bottom and not a care in the world what anyone else thinks about it.
prompt 4: wildcard/recovery
((OOC: Hit me up here if you'd like to request something in particular. Fite me bruh.))

The drinks didn't smell... enjoyable. So when he found Undertaker with one, he couldn't help but make a face.
"Is that even any good?"
no subject
He looked to his drink and giggled, giving the rest of what was in his mug - they had actually provided a mug for the stuff, and he thought he might keep it for a decoration later - a light swirl. "This? Not at all, but it is smooth. I'm not a fan of the bubbles and this particular brew kept it light."
no subject
"The same could be said for you, Headmaster." A little amused. He remembered that outfit. It was hard to forget. Seeing Undertaker in anything but his normal robes and obscenely long sleeves had been strange and a little jarring.
Ciel almost asked if he was already drunk but no, he was always laughing. Almost always. And he didn't even know enough to know if reapers could get drunk.
"These drinks all smell awful."
no subject
He turned his palm one more time, then took an unnecessary sniff of his drink and a short pull from what was left, swallowing it without so much as a flinch. "Smells like it tastes, I assure you."
no subject
"I imagine all of our clothing would be costume in a place like this. We are rather... behind, compared to everyone else."
Really, he'd take Undertaker's word for it. Though, the way he said it made Ciel wonder whether that was a good thing or not.
"At least wine has a pleasant bouquet."

"Undertaker!" He called out from over the crowd, it didn't matter that he had only briefly spoke to him. The man was interesting.

He looked at the remainder of the ale in his mug and wished it was wine. "So you've had a taste of that, have you? Well, you are a noble, after all." Or were. Whatever the case may be. "What do you think of it?"
no subject
"Ah, Jason, is it?" He lifts his hat and bows his head in greeting, feeling a little more like he's home than he has since he arrived in this city. "How are you enjoying the evening?"
no subject
"Yeah, my name's Jason Todd." He looks around them a moment before shrugging. "It's pretty fun so far, interesting to see what everyone is wearing. How about you?"
no subject
"The clothes here are nice. I don't need anything specifically tailored..."
That was always a pain, listening to Nina comment on how he never seemed to grow. And it meant he didn't have to pay anyone's fee for measuring, fabric, work, etc.
The ale gets another look, a little face like he's faking a gag.
"We have a well-stocked wine cellar in the manor. Some events wouldn't be complete without wine being served." A short pause. "I like some of it. Red wines are too dry, usually."
Of course he liked sweeter, dessert wines.
no subject
"Good to have met you then, Mister Todd. I've been enjoying it myself. Just a bit apart from the ordinary to break up the everyday ins and outs of life these days. Even I get bored if I do the same thing too often. By the by, I don't believe I had a chance to properly show my appreciation for your assistance to the Earl a bit ago."

One part about this world that he found he liked, anyway.
He paused and took another sip of his ale and swallowed it without a flinch. It still didn't taste much better and the actual alcohol content wasn't near enough that he would feel anything from it, but he did hate to waste, so he would finish it. In time. "Ah, but milord, the white wines are usually the dry ones. You behave like a man, but your tastes toward adult drinks haven't yet developed. Give it time. You've a few years yet." He lifted a his free hand to his mug and ran a nail around the rim of the container in thought. "Do you let it breathe first?"
no subject
The teen made another face at how easily Undertaker drank the ale. If it didn't taste much better than it smelled, how could anyone stomach it? And then he couldn't help but just frown at the comment.
"Depending. Every red blend I've tried has been dry. There are plenty of white that are sweet and that we keep in the manor." Even with Undertaker, he still loathed being treated like a child. Yes, he was still one, but he didn't like it. "Sebastian always handled that."
Knowing the demon though... probably not. Just for the sake of making his master suffer.
