The shop's machines fascinated him to no end when he had first arrived and trained for his new job, especially the ones that kept water at just the right temperature for tea. It certainly made things so much easier - he had their tea ready in short time and brought the cups out to their table. One was set before each of his guests, just what they had ordered.

A third chair sat empty at the table and he took it to join them, sweeping the thick braid of his hair over his shoulder as he did to keep it from being pinned against his back and the chair, uncomfortably so.
