The shifting around and light touching didn't wake him up at first. Jim couldn't remember the last time he'd slept this soundly, without a single dream stirring him, or a simple thought interrupting his rest in the dead of the night. So it took a while for him to regain consciousness, and even as he moved a little, tension pulling at the muscles of his back, it took a moment for him to start blinking his eyes open.
That common hint of confusion hit him first, as his gaze focused on the unfamiliar surroundings and tried to make sense of it. It didn't take that long for the memories of the previous night to start coming to him, and when they did a lazy smile stretched his lips, and he moved just enough to be able to lift his head up and turn it to the other side so he could look at Bones.
The brightness coming from the window, though dimmed, had him squinting his eyes. With a groan and a low sigh, he forced just one of them open so he could catch a glimpse of Bones's frame, and he reached a hand out to brush his knuckles across the nook of his shoulder. "Mornin'."
