Right now was far from a bad time for Bones to orient himself to what Jim was doing, considering what he was doing was kissing Bones. Not that he expected anything else, but the level of responsiveness and reciprocity was more than just nice, and Jim delved further into the kiss, a soft gasp drowning into the doctor's mouth as he pulled him closer and they were pressed close together.
His hands settled on Bones's waist both, curling into the fabric, finally rounding his sides and resting at his back. He felt a little lightheaded when the kiss broke, but with a few slow breaths he managed to steady himself somewhat, blinking his eyes open and looking into Bones's.
"I know you would," he answered with a warm smile. Figuratively and literally, and in more ways than just one, now. It wasn't something he was either expecting or aiming for, but that only made it the more exciting.
"We can always push the beds together?" It was said with a hint of amusement, as evidently he meant it as a joke. That would only be weird and probably awkward to everyone else in that room, even if they did nothing more besides sleep, so it was by no means a viable solution.
He raised an eyebrow at the question, lips stretching and quirking into a crooked smile, his head pulling back a little so he was looking properly at Bones's face. "Mm, depends on where we are, but yes, assume the prerogative stands."
