Ed pulled back from the fridge and closed the door with one drink in hand, noting the way that Keith seemed to be a little hesitant and at this point guessing where this topic was going. Where it always did when people got this uncertain or awkward.

Naturally, that was exactly what Keith asked about - and on one hand, Ed's surprised. Which is clear on his expression as he moved to the seating in the kitchen to crack open the can of soda. On the other hand, this had become such a predictable scenario at this point he can't help but be anything but surprised.

Without responding Ed took a seat at the table, motioning for Keith to join him with a shrug.
