"Ah, yes. I suppose that's true. I didn't think it was strange." She was at a point in her life where she just accepted strange things and kept going. "If the portal was able to bring us here, then I figured it could bring books and anything else too." It didn't feel like such a stretch though Kate did wonder if the portal brought anything else here from her home world. She would make a point to look a little later.

Vincent's directness didn't bother Kate. She was the sort of person who would only answer the questions she wanted to answer, regardless of how they were asked, and she had a feeling that Vincent was out of practice when it came to social norms.

"I was studying." She picked up the lock and began to rocking between her palms. "Playing with the tumblers in the lock help me focus and think." It was a fun exercise and she felt proud when she was able to pick the lock.
