Kate smiled up at him as she steadied herself. "We are." She confirmed with a short laugh. She was bloody determined to be able to Rollerblade and talk by the end of their date. Her hand gently glided down his arm and took his hand for balance as they circled the ovular rink.

"My dad." It had been a lie but she wasn't sure how much of it interested Jason. "He had wanted to get away and took my brother and me out of school. That was months ago." It was almost a year ago now that a birthday had come and gone. "He quit his job too. There was a lot going on and I didn't learn about it until the trip." This wasn't exactly a date conversation. "And it wasn't much of a vacation. Have you ever been out of the country?"
