Kate wanted to argue when Eddie stepped in front of her but she managed to bite it back. This wasn't exactly the right time for reckless bravo.

Alone, Kate wouldn't have been enough to deter the man. Eddie however, was a different story. He was larger and had the police backing him up. The stranger lifted his palms towards Eddie, implying that he wasn't going to do anything, before turning and stumbling down the street in the opposite direction.

Looking at Eddie's back reminded Kate of Freddie and his efforts to protect her. That had been a different time and a different situation. They had been after different things and both had been willing to go through great lengths to completely their goals. Kate's didn't end so well.

"Thank you." She spoke softly, her words holding back anger more than fear. A drunk man was not scary after the things that kate had seen.
