Maybe he was just trying to distract himself, after all fireworks had never been special for him. If anything they were a nuisance in his memory. A nuisance and a tie to days he'd rather forget.

His expression changed at the question, whole body shifting as if to close in on himself. He didn't like to think about it, and he'd been spending the whole time trying to ignore his own memories. Which might have been why he was so interested in Yuffie's stories. After a moment he drew his legs up, as if to hide behind his knees before speaking again, softly.
