Ed was well versed in girls being annoyed with him, it wasn't so much that he didn't take her seriously as that- well, upsetting girls was kind of an inevitable part of his life by this point. There just wasn't any sense overreacting to it, anymore. Although he'd initially been reluctant to get involved in yet another party so soon after the last one - and he still hadn't fully recovered from Carnivale, even before the masquerade - arriving had changed things. Food and being able to throw himself into some actual work on the beach made for a much more pleasant Elric overall during the week of the festival, and by the time the fireworks come on the 14th he'd completely forgotten a number of things that made him less fun to be around, thanks to the effects of the amnesia.
As much as Yuffie is watching the fireworks, Ed was watching her - out of the corner of his eye. He'd never really been too impressed by the displays as a kid, and certain events sure soured the whole experience, but here he didn't have to worry about any of that. For a change he got to sit back and enjoy something, and that alone was a new experience. He was probably smiling more that night than she'd ever seen since the day they had met.
When he turned to answer her question he found a hand extended out to his face with some cotton candy presented for him to take. Which only caused him to immediately forget what he was going to say as a sudden blush stained his features. That's certainly not how cotton candy eating had gone with Chloe, and he's admittedly confused for a second - but at the last part he smirked, taking the offered bite and letting it dissolve in his mouth with a shrug. "I know."
He shifted to rest an arm on one upturned knee, gaze shifting back to the sky before speaking again. "You like dressing up for this stuff, don't you?" Ed was dressed as usual, he didn't do bathing suits or summer attire, and if these clothes worked in the desert they sure as hell could work here for a few hours at the beach. As for her question, he hummed thoughtfully, head tilting slightly as if seriously considering his response. "I think this is more my style than that dance."
