Sitting back in his chair, Alec began fidgeting with his ring, trying to sort through the strange memories that weren't real and the ones he assumed were the truth. "Maryse wasn't angry. She was disappointed. Robert's the one that..." Instead of finishing the thought, he shrugged instead. Jace had seen the subtle differences in the ways that their parents had treated them both. Alec had let go of his jealousy over that attention years ago, knowing that his best friend needed people to care about him after Michael's abuse, but there had been a difference other than that. Robert had always acted strangely around Alec, something he hadn't realized until he'd put it into the context of his sexuality.
