[Closed] Romantic Language of Flowers
who: Dr. McCoy and Jim Kirk [Closed]
what: He promised his captain flowers. He’s getting flowers, damn it!
when: July 21st (after the mission to find the shuttle)
where: In their shared apartment space.
warnings: This is going to be NSFW. If it doesn’t, then I suppose the doctor failed in that grand romantic gesture he promised. XD
Leonard got in late, long after Jim called it a night. Granted, that had just been a front as he wanted to bring the rest of the ‘supplies’ in when Jim wasn’t up and about where he could ask questions or figure it out too soon. And well, he got a couple of days off and planned everything out tediously since the idea had been planted in his brain at Bryn’s party and Jim complained about not getting a single flower from him. Well, the only reason that flower even made it back to Bryn was actually because he’d taken absolute care to study, pick and scan ever flower along their way on that mission…
And now he knew exactly which ones would be allergens and which were fine for one James T. Kirk. It was more routine. If they were planning to live in this place for an indefinite amount of time, then he wanted to know everything in regards to side effects like allergies. It just made this particular task easier.
The blue orchid like flower blossoms were scattered across the covers, some carelessly even dropped on top of Jim’s sleeping form. On different surfaces of the room, red rose like petals were strewn amidst small candles ranging in color from blue to gold with drooping branches of white flowers trailing down the dresser or head board giving off a sweet smell much like jasmine or honey suckle. And if Jim woke, the first thing he would see before his eyes is an elaborate yellow flower, petals tipped in deep blue in that exotic way that only alien plants could. A small note was attached to the stem, written on in elegant old fashioned script scrawling the stark whiteness reading, “If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever. – Tennyson”
The red petals from Jim’s side of the bed trailed from the room, outlined in blue flowers like a path until it stopped in the hall just outside of the bathroom, where small candles formed a heart on the ground with another yellow flower and note attached to it. This one read, “He’s more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same. – Bronte” And just beyond this, the bathroom was set up in much the same manner as the bedroom with blue, red, and white flowers with the yellow blossoms floating on the surface of the water in the tub along with a few floating white candles.
In all honesty, Leonard knew he went a little crazy. But he did promise Jim a grand gesture and he made good on it. He didn’t stay in the bedroom. Instead he waited out of the way as he turned on the radio, picking a very specific song taking a deep breath. He just hoped that alone would be enough to wake Jim up as the beginnings of “God Only Knows” filled the silence.
