Ed is not really big into the whole religion thing, you say gods he thinks religion. Maybe it just came out wrong, but he's not really sure how to go about even correcting the direction Nico takes it in so instead he's just listening.

Or, trying to anyway. He's mostly absorbing what Nico's saying, and in an abstract way it makes sense - if he didn't try too hard to think of it as a reality, and mostly just took in the details like a story. He could wrap his mind around the rest of it later.

The last part though he misses completely, because he gets to about you could even be a child of Athena and his brain short circuits. Only to be snapped back to reality by the assertion that Gaea was a right bitch - because that last part was the only part he heard.

Ed just blinks for a moment, trying to register all of that. When he does speak, all that comes out is "I'm no child of a god...." Nevermind a god of wisdom of all things, he might come off as smart but Edward spent too much time beating himself up for past mistakes to really believe it too much, himself.
