That’s the way Illya sees life, really. Everything is a mission, everything has a purpose and he has to have a reason for every single little thing he does. That’s how he grew up, basically how he has raised and it’s going to be really hard for him to change.

He knows he may not intimidate literally everyone, especially not in this place where there are things like aliens and superpowers and robots. But he knows he’s objectively intimidating to most people so he has no doubts he’s going to keep a lot of people away from Re-L if she doesn’t want them around. Though she doesn’t seem particularly worried. He doesn’t know much from her past, but he does know it was pretty unconventional so he shouldn’t be surprised she seems unbothered by all this.
