It's a long, weird, messed up story. But the very basic idea is that we had to take this machine off-line. We'd worked out the code that was supposed to do it, only I ended up having to figure out how to connect a SHIELD microdrive to a machine that seemed to have been built not too long after the end of the Cold War. It worked, but taking it offline resulted in some kind of energy field, and I was ground zero.

[She shrugs her shoulders a little helplessly.]
