Kate felt like her innocence had been stolen from her. She'd once been innocent, just a high schooler from Texas. Now she was older, stronger and had lost everything that she'd ever loved.
"I don't know about that." She picked up on his implication and she shook her head as she continued. "Last time I saw him was a few months before I woke up here. We parted on the side of a road." He went one way and Kate went another. He was her friend and she hoped that he was alright. "I'm just looking for a familiar face."
For the first time her eyes were drawn to the demonstration. It was a brief glance and nothing registered in her expression besides passive interest. She turned back to Jason and eyed him curiously, showing him a little more interest than the show. "I know. That doesn't mean their bad people or good people. Their just... people." She didn't think that everyone was perfect but Kate had hope, or, she used to have hope.
