[ None of it makes sense from his perspective. She has to remind herself that he's from so long ago, all those months piling up to change... everything. It hurts to think about, to hear him talk about it like this, but of course that's how he would see everything. He didn't even remember the beginning of what they were. What they were supposed to be.

If she could possibly look any more nervous, she does. Nervous and lost, because he was her anchor and without him... ]


I would have said the same thing back then. But things changed. We changed. You became the only person who understood me, who stayed with me through everything.

[ She wishes she wasn't holding this stupid kebab. That they weren't having this conversation in the middle of the street. But it is what it is and she's not running away from it, even though the next part leaves her wanting to. ]
