[He's certainly not one to judge a book by the cover, so Ed takes in the ornate binding curiously. After all, a recipe book held the answers to the truth behind the Philosopher's Stone, where he came from anything could be secretly hidden in codes. Not that he thought Romulus would get much out of it, if that's what he was looking at, considering the poor guy couldn't even read to begin with, nevermind crack elaborate codes.
Ed cracks the book open and scans a few paragraphs to see what content he's looking at before frowning thoughtfully. Chances were pretty good this was just a story book, but he'd need some more time with it to really know that for sure. Still, that wasn't what this was about. Romulus wanted to know what was inside the book, so he was going to offer what information he could, and any additional detective work - should it be worthy of that in the long run - would have to wait.]
This just looks like a story. You could probably use your device to read it to you...
[Ed's not entirely familiar enough with all of the tech in Riverview to call them anything but that, terminals in Purg, devices in Lang and here- cell phones, laptops, tablets... It was all too complicated for him, at least for now.
He smirks, shrugging some.]
I can still teach you, but- it will take longer, and you probably won't really get to enjoy it the same.
