[open+closed] and you'll be a man, my son
who: Armitage Hux + you
what: au event; he's a 9 y/o in charge of child soldiers
when: 10-24th June
where: various
warnings: this is basically space!children of the corn
i, open: shopping centers
[Hux has a vague idea where he is. He knows he's been in this city before, but he also knows this isn't quite where he's supposed to be. There's a starship out there somewhere, where he's supposed to be learning, training, commanding his underlings.
He might be nine, some months shy of ten years old, but he doesn't panic, doesn't worry like other children might. Instead, he considers this a survival exercise. He just happens to be in the middle of a sizeable city rather than on some isolated world.
The clothing predicament was the first thing he took care of; he's already small, frail, almost sickly looking. The last thing he needed was to be stuck in adult-sized clothing that swallowed him whole. This leaves him with needing two things initially: food and protection.
Prior to heading out to the area with a large concentration of shopping centers, he'd looked around for credits or anything that looked like a currency of some kind in the apartment. Having not found it, he simply assumes that he's supposed to use other skills to obtain what he needs.
Getting food is easy enough; he's small, hardly noticeable, and it's easy enough to grab a piece of fruit from a produce stand, or a roll from a display of freshly baked goods.
Finding a weapon requires a different strategy. Ideally, he wants a blaster, but he assumes that few of the people around him would be keen on helping him. Eventually he finds something that'll work--a metal baseball bat. He doesn't know what the proper use is, but it'll get the job done.
Taking it from the rack, he tugs on the sleeve of a nearby adult. It's too big to just run off with, so he does his best to appear to be the inoffensive child he's mistaken for.] Excuse me, can please you help me? I need this but I don't have any money.
ii, open: abandoned city
[It's by chance he finds himself near inner fence of the Quarantine. He can see some of the remains of an abandoned city from where he is, and it's enough to pique his interest. He's naturally curious, and spending any amount of time on a planet or moon is such a rare occurrence for him that it seems pointless not to take advantage of the opportunity.
He quickly determines he can't just pass through the fence, though it would make things easier. Unfortunately, it seems like he has no choice but to try to make his way past the Perimeter Guard.
If there's an older-looking person nearby heading toward the exit, Hux will trail along behind them, in hopes of getting past without question. Should that not be an option, he simply informs anyone who stops him, in his most self-assured voice:] I'm going out there.
iii, closed to kylo ren; hux's flat
[On the morning of the tenth, Hux wakes up feeling slightly disoriented. As he looks around, he has a sense of déjà vu, although he's immediately certain this isn't the room he was supposed to wake up in.
Nor were these the pajamas he should be in; they're far too large, too heavy. After further inspection, he realizes that nothing is quite right. None of the clothes or shoes are remotely close to his size. This is a problem, obviously he needs something that will fit but he doesn't want to venture out into the unknown like this.
Eventually, he finds a phone, and after going through it, he finds contact information for someone named Ren. That sounds familiar, so it must be someone he knows. Likely someone his age? Has to be. His memory is fuzzy, but he decides Ren must be one of his underlings, so maybe it won't be too weird to ask another kid his age for assistance. It's not like he has much of a choice.]
I require you to find me clothing that fits.
[It's simple enough, he thinks. But after a moment:]
Additionally, I do not know where I am so you are also tasked with finding me. Confirm you understand.
