introductory mingle: PRIJATA
what: Introductory Log and Prijata Celebration
when: June 1st - June 8th
where: Anywhere around the city.
warnings: please put any necessary warnings in the subject lines

In the days leading up to June 1st, residents new and old will notice preparations beginning, a flurry of activity getting the city ready for the upcoming celebration: Prijata. Riverview Quarantine has a strong culture of love, and they celebrate all types - Prijata is a special celebration of platonic love and building community through friendship. Prijata traditions include gift exchanges between friends, sharing meals cooked together by friend groups, and a variety of events and services aimed at making friends.

Prijata is a relatively relaxed holiday, focused mainly on friendship and platonic love - dedicated to appreciating the friends already in one's life, and opening oneself up to making new friends. Besides the private giving of gifts between friends, there is also a city-wide government-sponsored gift fountain that is open throughout the entire week. Included in the wide variety of events catered to finding new friends, are 'speed friending' and a large open exhibition where all the specialized clubs in Riverview can recruit for new members - and residents new or old can create a club and recruit.
i. gift fountain
While Prijata gift exchanges between friends are generally a quiet affair, done at friend-group dinners or parties, the element of gift giving does extend outward - community-wide, in fact. Throughout the course of the week, anyone living in Riverview Quarantine can drop by the huge fountain in the City Center, in front of the City Hall. They will find that the fountain is chock full of floating gift boxes in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and different shapes - though none larger than a shoe box. There are signs put up around the fountain stating that the boxes are magic and will only seek and open for their rightful owners. Characters will find that, upon touching the water, a box will float over to them, and when they pick it up, the top will unfurl like flower petals, displaying the gift inside. Sometimes, the box won't appear on the first try, since there's only so much space in the fountain at any given time, but if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Every person in the city (including new arrivals) will receive one gift by the end of the week.
Gift fountain boxes will contain one small item from each character's home dimension (or, for CRAUs, from their previous game), similar to the "items from home" bonus reward, but without needing to spend points. The item should be small enough to fit in a shoebox, sentimental, and cannot be something intended for another person's character. ETA: If you can't think of an item like this that would work for your character, something of similar size and quality to what's described above that would make the character very happy can be substituted.
This prompt can also be used for gift exchanges and for characters to receive the Government-given gifts that were suggested in the Prijata Pregaming posts on the OOC community and the TDM.
ii. speed-friending
This is pretty much what it says on the tin! Much like speed-dating setups, many bars, coffee shops, and other places that people might gather are holding speed-friending! It's your standard setup - characters enter and fill out a quick questionnaire about themselves, and flit from table to table looking for someone with great friend chemistry. Not all of them are general and open to anyone who walks in, though, with many being specialized to people who are invested in certain hobbies, occupations, or with specific sets of interests. With specialized speed-friending setups ranging from horror movie buffs to members of the Perimeter Guard to fashionistas to sports or martial arts to video games, no matter what your character is into, they're likely to be able to sign up for a special event where they can go looking for a friend who's into the same things they are!
For this prompt, you can put up a list of hobbies or interests your character has, and compatible characters can hit them up for a speed-friending thread, like the IC equivalent of the CR meme!
iii. club exhibition
Speed-friending is all well and good, but not everyone is outgoing or open enough to know if they have friend chemistry in only a few minutes. For anyone looking to find groups of like-minded individuals they can spend more than a few minutes with before committing to something as daunting as a friendship, there is a week-long club exhibition happening in the Town Square in the City Center. Table after table and booth after booth are occupied by existing clubs in the city, with an incredibly broad scope of focus interests and hobbies - enough that any character should be able to find a club with their niche interest represented.
And if it isn't? Characters are welcome to start their own clubs - much like a business, a character-run club can have space set aside in the city for meetings and event mingles that are eligible for Activity Point Bonuses for the organizer.
iv. unveiling the new friendr
Prijata this year is marked by something special - the unveiling of a code rebuild of the ubiquitous Friendr app! Anyone with the app installed already will receive a prompt to update the app, and if anyone hasn't yet downloaded it, they'll receive a quick, easily-dismissed pop-up ad on their device when they next access the network, asking if they want to. No one is obligated, and the ad is a one-time instance, intended to make sure any character who hasn't heard of the app gets a chance.
The Friendr app is a swipe-left-or-right style friend matching and/or dating app that is very common in Riverview, both for PCs and NPCs, and it has received an upgrade with a new appearance, a new interests line for more accurate matching, and a wide variety of themes so that the colors can be customized!
Please see the updated appearance below, with the 'default' color scheme. Players are free to change the colors or appearance of the code but please do not remove the credit line showing where the base code came from, out of respect for the code creator.

For this prompt, you can either post your character's new, fancy Friendr app profile in the comments, or provide a link to their updated code in an entry on their journal. Whatever floats your boat!
v. roommates or wildcard
Feel free to use this prompt to set up headers for a communal floor, or threads open to roommates for the purpose of getting to know each other. Or if you have an idea for a prompt that isn't in this list, set during Prijata, feel free to write it up!

Yes, Red Robin, at your service, or I will be when I get my suit repaired. Dick's my...older brother, I guess. Sorry, I've been rude. I'm Tim. Tim Drake-Wayne.
no subject
Oh, that's you! He's mentioned you, although he said you were just "Robin" at the time.
[ Don't worry Tim, Dick spoke very fondly of you. Clark trusts Dick's opinion.
He hadn't mentioned an affiliation with the Wayne name, however. ]
no subject
Yeah, I'm a few years older than when Dick's from. Damian's Robin now. He was working with Jon when I left, so if he's around you'll probably meet him, too.
{Dick generally doesn't mention the Wayne name if he can help it. It does more harm than good for him as a cop. Tim, however, wheels and deals with both the Drake and Wayne legacies whenever it's useful.}
no subject
[ The only friend he mentions by name. That Damian is Robin doesn't surprise him, though he takes a moment to absorb that.
They really do start young. ]
There're a few others from worlds like ours. Dr. Caitlin Snow and Lois Lane have already left.
no subject
Damian started younger than most.}
Ah, I'm sorry.
{About Lois he means, awkwardly. Though he does take note of Killer Frost having come and gone. It was a sudden reminder heroes weren't the only ones who existed in their worlds or timelines. He'd have to be very careful.}
no subject
He's just not used to people knowing his name, about his life, or calling him Superman. Let alone treating him like he's part of their community.
In a way, he has been, and he's grateful they extend the same friendship to him that they do to their own Clark. ]
Thank you. [ Now back to the topic. ] There's two more, Cisco Ramon, and my cousin Kara. [ He hasn't met the others, and the second Robin Dick mentioned isn't Clark's business to talk about. ] We might all be from different worlds with the same basic structure.
[ He nods to Tim's sign. ]
no subject
I'm not sure I know Ramon. {The name sounded familiar like he'd skimmed past it in an A.R.G.U.S. file or something. He taps his fingers lightly on the table. His computer only has so many files stored on its memory without him being able to hook-up to a bat computer.}
Kara, though. She's great.
{It would be too much to hope Kon was here. He nods at Clark's suggestion.}
That's what I'm thinking as well. Dealing with multiple dimensions or incarnations of timelines isn't a new thing where I'm from. It's a massive pain, because you're never sure exactly what you're going to get out of people you've known for years, but it's not new.
no subject
[ There's something about that version that's different, since Cisco had asked him who had founded it, and was visibly relieved at the answer. Clark hadn't pursued it.
Tim's right that it's all a pain to keep straight even with notes. ]
I know I'm not the Superman you were expecting. Honestly, I'm not sure I understand all of this myself, but I'd like to work together when possible.
no subject
{He shakes his head slightly.}
You're younger, maybe you haven't faced the same threats you did in my world, but even in five minutes I can tell you're the same man. I'll be glad to work with you if you need me, and ask you for help in turn if I come across something too big for myself. {Tim wasn't Bruce. Sure, he did the solo act as often as he needed to, but he also remembered the value of teams and friends more regularly.
He flashes a sharp grin.}
I'm betting if you've met B you hadn't met any of the rest of us before you came here.
no subject
[ And it means a lot that Tim, like Jon, doesn't see the need to make a distinction. ]
no subject
Oh. Well. Hmm. {That had not been in Tim's calculations, but he recovers quickly. Robins would be nothing without adaptability.} Then you must have even more questions than I was betting you do. Unless you've already asked Dick a lot?
{He wouldn't tell Clark everything, of course. Some secrets weren't his to give away, but things that would help them work together, and little things he already would expect Clark to know or figure out, those were fine.}
no subject
[ There's so much he needs to ask about. Clark looks at the pamphlet and the list of cities again. ]
Do I have any more family?
[ He doesn't want them to come here and have a Clark who doesn't recognise them. ]
no subject
Hopefully, we won't have to worry about that here,but if it does come up...I'm pretty well-versed in how to help you. Dick, too, probably.
{The family question throws Tim and he finds himself looking away for a moment.}
Jon, Lois, Kara... {He briefly debates with himself, but in the end decides not to bring up Bizarro and goes with...} Kon. Conner Kent. He's... {My best friend. Tim pinches his nose briefly.} A clone. You um, adopted him when you found out about him.
no subject
There's technology out there that can clone me? [ He keeps his voice down, but he's frowning deeply. ] Who has it?
no subject
{Yeah, let's definitely not worry Clark with the fact that Kon is just the best clone, and definitely not the only one.}
no subject
He wonders if his (or Zod's) DNA was taken voluntarily. Like Zod, whose body is officially government property now, probably not. ]
I'll keep an eye out for them, and him. If you meet him first, let him know he's welcome to drop in and say hello. [ He can't say he's entirely okay with having a clone, but he'll wait until he meets this one to form an opinion. ] Oh, that reminds me. Here's my address. [ He takes out his phone to text Tim. ] We have a spare room on the second floor, and a couch, if any of you need a place to crash for the night. I don't sleep much, so you won't be disturbing me.
no subject
Clark doesn't even know him, or Batman, but he was still offering Tim a place when he needed it without thought of the kind of danger he could be to him or Jon. Granted, without kryptonite or magic he couldn't do much to Clark, but still. When Tim met him the first time Bruce had already laid down all the laws about metas and other powers acting in Gotham and how it was fine to be friendly, but not too friendly with other heroes.
This was....nice. Especially after the prison.}
Thank you. If he shows up I'll be sure to let him know.
{He looks up again, composure back in place, not that it had broken all that much, just enough that someone with Clark's observational skills might notice something.}
Any other burning curiosities I could satisfy for you?
no subject
And it's the least he can do after Tim accepted him without much question. ]
A lot more than is wise for me to know. [ He smiles warmly. Clark is a naturally curious person, and there's not a lot he knows about Dick and Tim's world. ] Although... does anyone in your [ He's not sure "family" is the right word. ] area familiar with Kryptonian technology or language?
no subject
{He pauses and considers the question. It definitely wasn't the way he was expecting Clark to go.} Hmm...B would know the most. He's worked with you the closest and longest. Dick might know a bit. I know you used to tell him stories when he was younger. {He looks briefly sheepish.}
I don't know as much as B myself, but I've tried to study some of what you've given him access to. There's a lot you've tried to keep hidden for very good reasons.
no subject
[ There's also what Clark's not meant to know. People have to be allowed their secrets and boundaries if it's not hurting anyone. ]
There's a lot I'd prefer to keep out of others' hands. There are several sites in the forest with technology that can be salvaged from all kinds of worlds. If there's something there that came from Krypton, I'd rather we keep it to study. If it's dangerous, destroy it before someone else finds it.
no subject
I'll definitely work with you on this. I know enough to recognize it even if I can't translate or determine it's purpose right away. Large pieces....they might come embedded in parts of the planet. {He reaches for his computer and starts tapping notes.} We'll have to see if we can get you a lead suit, or at least gloves.
no subject
I don't mean right away. [ Clark hasn't remarked on Tim's injuries, but he can see and hear them. ] Recuperate first. People haven't managed to get that far into the forest yet. [ They don't have Clark's advantages. ] We have time.
no subject
These are weeks old. I've got a little repair to do to my equipment, but I'll be back in business within a week. Maybe two if I can't get the things to mend my suit with.
no subject
[ Him and Dick. ]
no subject
{And even the bleeding thing is iffy if there's an emergency. He's being a little flippant, but if Clark hasn't seen it with Dick already, he'll probably catch on that Tim's really telling the truth.}
