Shifting a little until he was sitting crosslegged on the blanket, Jim reached for his bag and started pulling out a few containers with food, setting them down in front of them even as he listened to what Bones was saying. He shot him a small smile at the first remark, though not particularly apologetic. He knew he pushed at Bones's limits sometimes, but it was either out of necessity, or simply because some things he just didn't want to do (or didn't feel like he could do) without Bones.

"You're not selfish, Bones." If wanting the people he cared about to be alive and safe, and being willing to do whatever it took to make that happen, made him selfish, then hell, Jim was selfish too. A lot of people would be, for that matter.

Lifting a hand up to cup Bones's face, he shifted in closer and leaned in to kiss him briefly on the lips. "Thank you for taking care of me," he said, because that was how he saw it every time Bones had his back or saved his life. Not an act of selfishness, but rather the opposite. "I promise to try and give you less causes for minor heart episodes."
