"Maybe. I don't know. Most of my friends didn't know or remember their mothers, so it's been hard to compare." She never asked Anders or Sebastian about their mothers, and she wishes she had. Maybe they could have provided some perspective. But all she knows is how her mother was, and she's not sure if that's the norm or if, as she fears, her mother wasn't that great of one.

She leans against Alex, appreciating the gesture. "Thanks. A hug is nice sometimes."
