Alex just gave him a smile at that, and nodded. "I'm glad that I did too. I'm glad that it's here for you, honestly. You definitely need something good with all of the ghosts and everything else this month." Honestly, Alex thought they all could, seeing ghosts was never something that was good or pleasant in her experience. It was never just grandma at the top of the stairs saying goodbye. Which honestly was her biggest argument against Strand's saying that people saw what they wanted to see. No one wanted to see stuff like this.

"But it'll be over soon. November will come, and with it, it'll bring feast days and cleaning and letting things go. That's the next big fest. It's actually pretty helpful, you write things that burden you onto paper and light them on fire and stuff. I mean, it doesn't help a lot but it does undo some of the stuff that this month does. At least for me."
