Cassian stops to get a hot chocolate on his way to get Jyn, because of course she forgot. He is unsurprised and he would be hurt if it wasn't normal. It's exactly why he planned for an earlier time, to give himself the wriggle room to fetch her. They're not late! He even has time to pick up a cup of something warm, and he gets her a violet tea along the way too.

He's wanted to take her on a date for a while, not that he has much expertise, not that they don't already spend a lot of time together, but it's different with Date Intentions. They don't need dates, clearly, but Cassian just... wants to. He refuses to let her change this one away from a date just because she forgot. For two seconds he worries that maybe all her accidental changeovers from date into not!date are maybe not so accidental, but he likes to think she would tell him. They've been getting much much better with the whole honesty thing.

He finds her on the intrepid, naturally, just as she pulls off something victorious. He comes up to stand behind her, towering over her much more than usual given she is on the floor. But he still looks down at her fondly. He's carrying the picnic bag in one hand and a tray with the two hot cups in the other.

"Clearance granted for what?"
