When he comes to later, he won't even remember any of it, and will have to ask if he wants to know who is this stranger who saved his life, because he will be very grateful. Just not the thought at the forefront of his mind when he's bleeding himself dry across the pavement.
He tries to keep his breathing steady, but unaware that it keeps wavering, shaking, coughing here and there in-between inhales. His fingers fist his clothes tight, if only to keep himself awake.
He feels some minor shifting as her hand slides down to his lower back. He manages a shaky smile somehow, there and gone just as fast. ]

[ Something mumbled there, then he coughs again, wincing. Blotches of white stain his vision, and the sounds of the ambulance approaching don't even reach his ears.
He reaches for her arm, clutching as tight as he can, blurry eyes looking up in her general direction. ] ... thank you.
