"That wasn't planned, ya know." But he didn't know if he would do it differently. Jim didn't seem like the type to want grand romantic gestures and the fear of ruining their friendship always took precedence. Honestly, Leonard wasn't sure he'd ever have had the guts to pursue Jim without something pushing him forward first. "I don't know how I'd have tried to win you over, to be honest... Didn't think I could do anything more meaningful than just being by your side no matter what."

And he didn't know what could possibly make Jim switch gears from friendship to something like this. But maybe all the giving of himself and never walking away came to somethin'. Turning his head a little with Jim's he met his gaze for a second before his eyes lowered just slightly. "Well, I do prefer having somethings about me that surprise you. And to be honest, didn't think you'd ever do anything like this. It's pretty amazin'."
