"Jerk!" Jim huffed out with feigned offense, knitting his eyebrows as he nudged at Bones's leg. "Better than goddamn peaches all over the place. Weirdass furry fruit. I'll take corn any day of the week." Or maybe not. He did like corn, though, just not on every meal. Like, you know. Most other people from Iowa.

"Mm, that's true," Jim nodded, smiling warmer when Bones mentioned his mom. Not that Jim would know what that was like. Even when his mom was around, she was never much of a cook. Luckily they had a replicator back at the farm, so despite everything, Jim never really went hungry.

"I think I'll be glad for having a doctor that both knows anatomy and can cook me a really nice dinner. How's that?"
