Bit too dramatic, there. The chances of greeting Jim in the morning with nothing but an apron on going wrong were so slim they were pretty much negligible, so it's not like Bones could compare it to— other stuff. Times when Jim's charm and crazy ideas actually got him into insanely dangerous situations. This would be very far from that.

"Maybe not... honestly, you'll probably like it." A lot, really. At least the fact that Bones was such a romantic made Jim feel fairly sure that his idea, silly though it may seem to him, might just melt the doctor's heart. Not that that was his ultimate masterplan, but he wasn't about to complain either.

The next words out of Bones's mouth had his thoughts screeching to a halt right then, although he didn't look put off, even if he was evidently surprised. "Years," he parroted, a hint of disbelief in his tone. If only because Jim couldn't possibly imagine how he could've missed that for so long. "You're serious?"
