More because it's not getting him anywhere. He hates that. He sort of thrives on getting somewhere when he does things.
Nines would know better than him about exactly what way to die it is. He died the same way. No name, no family, no friends, no medics, for no good reason. Just got left there. Like a well-labeled and insignificant part that fell off of machinery and not a human person. And if Nines hadn't gotten the upper hand on him, Finn would have been the one to do it, and that's another one of those things that he doesn't like thinking about.
And it's worth noting that Poe is raising reasonable good points and making smart suggestions right now, because Finn is very much trending towards the "what if I just fly right at the metaphorical cannon all over again" line of thought. What if he ignores Poe's logic, and chases ghosts around in the forest all day instead of stopping to deal with his issues or getting back to goal one, the mission he's here for.
Only one of them can hold the Responsible Ball at any given point in time, and Finn has very bravely decided to put his finger on his nose Not-It style regarding that. ]
