So, as soon as they are away from potential eavesdroppers, Maia begins in a low voice: ]

I passed a tent with an- an individual who seemed ill. I asked, and they said they were struck with a fever a few days back, but-

[ Maia hesitates, feeling out of his depth. But he could not let potential embarrassment and shyness prevent him from sharing information that might be vital. Swallowing, he continues: ]

- I only looked in for a few moments, but there were- strange signs. Lines on their skin. Lesions. They seemed to be coughing blood. I- am no expert in such matters, but it seemed to me as if this might be... a sickness that might need to be handled carefully.
