[ To be fair, Jim is very good at getting past people's defenses, particularly when they like him. Blame it on his charm or his way with people, but he doesn't see it as a way to manipulate them or anything. It's a good quality to have, or at least he sees it that way. John looks closed off enough as it is around most people, Jim really does like it when he opens up around him.

Even if this time around comes in the form of taking up each other's personal space, hugging and leaning in close for a few pictures. Jim's grin widens even more, into something far more genuine and unrestrained, at just feeling John press their cheeks together, and his ear poking into his hair.

He pulls back a little once he lowers his phone, his smile wide and thoroughly endeared. He keeps getting stuck on how cute John looks right now, but also how cute he's acting. it might just be making him melt on the inside. ]


I am very happy. And yes, you were a good boy. [ Putting his phone away, he reaches up to scratch John's head and ears again. ] You still are— a very good boy.
