She tilts her head slightly, trying to get her head around this idea.
"Where I'm from," she says, a little cautiously at first, "there are humans like me, of course, but we mix freely with other species that look nothing like us, and it's ... rather ordinary. That someone would be shunned for not being 'human'—that's strange to me. And terribly wrong. Not that prejudice doesn't exist here and there, but mostly—" She looks at him, saddened and sympathetic. "That's a terrible thing to have to fight against."
