Who: Amilyn Holdo and YOU.
What: Holdo settles in at Riverview, has some awkward conversations, and generally has to deal with being here after mumble mumble spoiler mumble. Feel free to tag in off a prompt, or roll your own. Also, there will be comments for threads with specific people.
Where: Various locations including but not limited to: housing, government buildings, around town.
When: Over the first week or so that she's here.
Warnings: 'ware spoilers. I won't include any here, but threads will no doubt include them of necessity.

1. Community housing
If you live on the eighth floor, you will probably see Amilyn fairly regularly. She cuts a pretty unmistakable figure, being nearly six feet tall and with that purple hair and all. She's hung up her Republic-style gown for the time being (saving it, maybe, for some suitable occasion), but even with her civilian clothes she still wears her bracelets and rings.

2. Government offices
Amilyn shows up for work pretty much the day after she gets her assignment. So if you work as a community ambassador—congratulations, you have a new coworker. She's diligently setting up her workspace and getting caught up on all the latest news.

3. Entertainment and shopping district
All work and no play and all that stuff. Amilyn goes for walks, taking in the new sights and sounds, maybe stopping for a bite to eat somewhere interesting.

"I'm glad I can be here for you," Amilyn says. She can't quite say I'm glad you're here too, because so much is riding on Leia's fate back home ... but quietly, selfishly, she is very glad to have one of her oldest friends by her side again.

"Hey." A little smile, a glimmer of her youthful mischief. "Let's go get something to drink. And eat. If you're up for it, that is."

[ jyn takes in a long, slow breath, letting the woman's words sink in. she's been trying to convince herself of the same idea for months now and it's slowly working its way to a part of herself that believes it.

not all of her chances were spent, she has one left. ]

Maybe the rest will learn something from us.

[ the bubble pops and jyn jumps slightly at the soft noise, looking up at the cascade of insubstantial, immaterial shimmers that she half expects to linger on her clothes instead of vanishing the way they do. ]

If you want to see outside the wall... [ she gestures vaguely, trailing off. it's an unspoken offer. jyn will take her. ]

Time waits for no Community Ambassador. He doesn't know much about that, but it's a safe assumption. Time waits for nobody.

"Sure. Maybe I'll see you around." Finn holds out a hand. "You can let me know if there's anything you need-- or want. I just go by my name on the network. It won't be any trouble."

[ She nods. What else is there to say?

She too starts a little at the pop of the bubble, and brushes at her clothes and hair automatically, even though there's nothing to brush away. ]

I'd like that. Once I'm a bit more settled.

It's a real pleasure to meet you.

[ At last, she doesn't say. Or at all, since there's no way she'd ever have encountered Jyn in the normal run of her life. ]

She takes his hand in a firm handshake. "Thank you, Finn. And likewise. It's a pleasure meeting you."

[ oh hello, notification that I completely lost track of. I'm so sorry! ]

"They are very handy, aren't they?" Amilyn smiles at Zelda's enthusiasm. "I quite like them, although I've gotten much more accustomed to the holos that we use for communication back where I come from."

[hylights]

"Holos?" It's an unfamiliar term in her mouth, and she tilts her head slightly. "But yes, I agree. Being able to speak to someone else even if they're far away from you... it's a wonderful thing."

[evasives]

He nods his thank you. "I am on the Perimeter Guard, should you ever have need of their services. I have a good number of food recommendations as well. It was good to meet you, Amilyn."

Ms. Holdo just doesn't feel right somehow, and she hadn't given whatever her rank may have been.

[ jyn doesn't have the manners to say "a real pleasure" but hey, at least she didn't just walk away, she's growing as a person. she does however, sweep away so she can find cassian and tell him about the pretty lilac haired woman who joined their died for the cause club. ]
