Shapeshifting isn't unknown to me, though I've tried. Illusions should be simple enough to work out.

You needn't "dumb it down" for me. I happen to be quite good at the whole "magic" thing, and I've dabbled in theoretical magics as well. For instance, "dimension" crossing can be rather dangerous, and yet you speak of it as though it's normal, accepted.

Though, that is assuming our worlds use the same laws of physics. Thus far, it is my experience most do not.
