Manga are, like, comic books! Japanese comics! An' yeah, I've played poker a couple times.

Ah ha. So manga is a comic. I have never heard of it before. Also if its in Japanese, wouldn't be able to read it either.

Maybe sometime we'll have to play poker.

Sounds good. We look for some at some point. I mean if they have stuff similar to home then they should have manga.

What kind of things are manga usually about? Like superheroes?

Oh, gosh. everything. You have manga about mundane cats, or other animals, all the way up to over-the-top magical girl stories. People write manga about everyday life occurrences, but then other people do supernatural shit.

Interesting. I'd definitely be interested in seeing what sort of options they have here in Quarantine. Wonder if they'd have any about giant robots.

[There's a little bit of a smug smirk at that one. Since he pilots a giant robot, he's kind of curious how someone would write a story like that]

I know there were a ton of those back home. Japan really loves its giant robots. [he chuckles and drinks more of his coffee]

Oh, do they now? Man, now I do want to see if they have anything here. I wonder if they have any idea how a giant robot actually works. I've seen at least a few of them.

[He picks up his coffee as well and takes a sip]

[ah, that's so fascinating to Osomatsu, that Lyle deals with giant robots]

Well, we could go to the library, if ya wanted. Bet we could find something on giant robots, even if it's not a comic.

Sounds good. Let's finish our coffee first before we go.

[It would be silly since Osomatsu had made these coffees and he was rather enjoying the one that had been made for him]

[that's... good. nice. Osomatsu's really pleased that Lyle wants to drink what he made. it gives him a sense of pride for the job that he didn't realize he had.

he goes quiet as he drinks, just enjoying the company. the nerves seem to have vanished]

[Well, he seems to have relaxed at least. Even if this was technically a date type thing, there wasn't really a reason to be worried about it. Whatever happened happened.

It was a few more minutes that Lyle finished the drink that Osomatsu had made]

If you're done, we can head to the library.

[Osomatsu's just finishing up his coffee as well. he'd been looking out the window, watching the city and thinking about how things have changed since he's been here. ahh, but he's pulled out of his thoughts]

Yeah, sure! [he stands up to toss his cup away, then gives a wave to his coworkers, telling them 'Thanks, guys!' before holding the door open for Lyle so that they can leave]

[Lyle's up as well when Osomatsu stands, throwing out his cup and passing by the cafe's workers as they head out. He gave them something between a wave and a salute as he walks out the door. He gave Osomatsu as a smile as he stepped through the door]

[He buttoned up his coat as he stepped outside, glancing over at Osomatsu so they could head over to the library]

[Osomatsu bundles up in his own coat and scarf, since it's chilly, and soon they are off to the library]

Man... I can't remember the last time I willingly went to the library, yanno?

[Lyle walked along side him, pulling out his gloves from his pocket and putting them on]

It's been a while since I have. I used to spend a lot of time in the library during university. I was the bookworm of our family.

Really? [Osomatsu's eyes flick up to Lyle. hm...] You don't talk too much about your family.

Yeah, well. There's a reason. I'm the only one left.

[He just didn't think of them. It was easier that way. He'd already come to terms with their deaths]

[o h ........... Osomatsu tries to remember if Lyle has said that before, but he doesn't think so]

[No, Lyle hadn't mention it, but he doesn't seem too concerned. He's not exactly happy, but he doesn't look like he's about to break down]

It's okay. It's been a while. Being sad about it won't change it. I just try to honor their memory as much as possible.

[Osomatsu nods at that. he doesn't know what he'd do if he lost his family. actually, since he's been in Riverview, it's seemed like he's lost some already]

Yeah... [he's curious as to how it happened, but Osomatsu won't ask that. that's rude. instead he's quiet for the rest of their walk to the library]

[Lyle gave him a small as they neared the library]

Don't worry about it. It's not something that I've worried about for years. I just do what I can. And I have to make my own family.

[Osomatsu looks up when Lyle says that, and then he smiles back]
