where: In the Abandoned City's amusement park.

A collection of men stood in the amusement park of the Abandoned City while they waited for their boss to arrive. Some men talked among themselves while a simpleton or two found their gazes lingering on random bits of overgrown brush and mechanical bits. There were ratty old tents and abandoned toys torn to bits. Monsters and time had taken hold of this place well, and its' location suited their boss well. It not only helped with keeping nosy people away, it unnerved the men all to Hell. The faded pictures of clowns and shadows cast upon the faces of long since dead robotic characters made it bad enough.

The possibility of monsters coming down upon them and attacking made everything that much worse for them all. Eventually, a van pulls up and out comes their boss...who wasn't looking the same as he usually did. The roots in his hair were coming in some, giving a bit of green to his previously dyed hair. White splotches were showing up on his face, and he was dressed differently than they had ever seen him: a purple suit. It was currently unkempt and made the man look rather unhinged while several men came out of the back of the van wielding large metal tubs and gas cans. They followed the boss as he walked slowly through the property toward the collection of men on the land. They parted appropriately in response, Joker moving to stand in the middle of them all.

A tub was placed on each side of him, the men taking the gas cans and filling the tubs as Joker spoke. "So I gotta be honest, kids: I'm not who I've been saying I am. I..am something so much worse." The men listened closely, knowing better than to interrupt this strange man that showed flashes of anger and brutality. Now it seemed like they were getting the good stuff--if only they knew.

"Back home I hate the status quo. The idea that we must adhere to a specific way of life. That we must exist within the rules of a society as corrupt and rotten at their cores as the very people they claim to hate. We all have our vices; I lack patience. That's one thing for me. Others? Some of you? Well, that's why we're here tonight. We're going to start ramping things up a bit! And to do that, I have to deal with the vices of a couple of you boys." Joker looked down at the pair of men pouring the gas and then starts to move, looking around at the group of men around him.

"Two of you are snitches. At least! So I'm going to fix this large problem in a very simple way. I'm going to close my eyes, and you men are going to attack the pair of tattletales for me. Because these two are going to get all of you killed if you don't. Now--" Joker smiled big and placed both of his hands over his eyes. "--show em what happens when you cross The Joker!" The men converged upon the two men pouring the gas, attacking them just as they stopped.

Joker laughs, giggling fiercely at the sound of bones crunching and skin being greeted with skin and leather boots. Grunts and pleas filled the air and then, after a long moment, stopped. Joker pulled back his hands and looked down to see the two men bound at the wrists and ankles. This brings a wicked smile to his face, arms going out in a brief flail. "You even tied them up! Oh you guys! You get it. Now, toss them in." Joker motions to the tubs and the men pick up the two would-be snitches, tossing them into the large tubs filled with gas. The men sputter and plea, only for Joker to smash one of them in the nose with his fist.

"Shut your mouth! You brought this on yourself~" Joker stood up and flipped back his hair, smoothing it over and closing his eyes for a brief moment. "Marcus. Matches." Joker held out his hand and his right hand man placed a pack in his hands. He gave a quick motion to the tubs and started to walk away as Marcus took a gas can and made a trail going from each tub to where the Joker stopped. It was still close to the tubs, but he stops where he wants. The men were on their knees in the tubs, pleading for their lives. It was all the same sort of thing he heard back home.

With a sigh, Joker points to his feet. Marcus adds a bit of gas just in front of them so that the trails would meet and then ran back to the van. "Boys, today is the day you learn loyalty. Spread it to your friends, your co-workers in the bad guy biz--tell em Joker doesn't play." A manic grin stirs on his face and remains there as he lights a match. With a laugh he tosses it, watching the flame light and travel, splitting where it should and heading for both tubs at once. The men start to get up, crying out as the fire touches the inside of the tubs and blows up, huge spikes of flame erupting out of them and throwing the Joker back a bit. He falls onto his back and laughs even harder, rolling onto his side and watching as the men flail in the tubs, their bodies alight with fire.

His laughing turns into a simpering giggle as he starts to walk away. "Now sing the song, just as we rehearsed boys." The men all clear their throats and begin. "The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire, we don't need no water let the motherfucker burn! Burn, motherfucker, burn! The men sing and cheer, grateful not to be dead until they hear Joker's voice calling out from a megaphone.

"Boy oh boy, what a grand ole time we had tonight, eh boys!?" They cheer in agreement, Joker laughing into the megaphone from the back of the van. "Now it's time for you to prove your worth to me. I'm going to leave you out here for the monsters. Whoever makes it back gets to live!" The men cry out audibly as Joker looks over his shoulder. "Hit it, Marcus!" The van revs to life as monsters roar out in the distance. The men start to run, clambering over each other to try and reach the van. Just when one of them is about to reach out, Joker kicks him away and laughs as the van speeds away. The lanky man sways and holds onto one of the back-doors, laughing as he calls out into the megaphone:

"I believe in you boys! You've got a head-start on em!" He laughed even as he closed the doors to the van and sat back, laughing all the while as the van slipped back into the actual city and among the normal sweethearts of Riverview.
