"It's less startling, for one," Keith offered, his eyebrows bunching together a bit with a sheepish expression.
He nodded about Shiro. "We're pretty close," he said. "I don't know where I'd be without him." Keith's tone, though, suggested that Keith felt he'd be in a much worse situation if it hadn't been for Shiro.
As for parties...? He shrugged. "A little of both, I guess. It was a lot of small stuff... what little I remember from being a kid, but... after my mom left, we didn't really do anything. And once I was on my own, I just stopped even thinking about it altogether. It just didn't seem important anymore."
